Advanced Transmission, Inc. is pleased to announce that Jonathan Shadis one of our former Chassis Technicians has now moved to the position of Customer Service Consultant. Jon has had a passion for cars since he was 14 years old and feels that his experience is more than adequate to meet the needs of our customers at Advanced Transmission. In 1999, Jon moved from New Jersey to the Baldwin County area. He loves to learn new things and feels accomplishment when he applies those new skills. Jonathan enjoys working with others and having a good time while getting the job done. Jon and his wife just became the proud parents for the first time this summer. Jon feels that his family and friends are a very important part of his life. In his spare time he enjoys the company of friends, playing paintball, his pets and relaxing at home. Allison Carter comes to Advanced with over 22 years of Administrative/Legal Assistant experience. Although she has not worked in the automotive industry, Allison’s dedication, high work ethic and skills are a true asset to Advanced Transmission.
Allison is a native of Daphne for more than 30 years before she and her husband were transferred to Georgia for 9 years. She has gladly returned to her home town early this year. Allison is happily married with 2 children and in her spare time, she enjoys walking, pilates and spending time with family.
Donnie Lanzer

Rebuilder
Advanced Transmission is honored to have Donnie join us as a REBUILDER. Donnie brings with him over 26 years of experience. With this many years of experience comes an extensive knowledge of transmission theory (how it really works) from one end to the other. This priceless knowledge tags Donnie as one of the best in the business. Donnie pays great attention to detail inspecting every aspect of the vehicle (not just the transmission). He takes great pride in his work, taking the time to personally follow each transmission repair to the end. He does a final road test prior to releasing the vehicle back to the owner only after he is personally and professional satisfied with the transmissions performance. Donnie is an ASE certified technician. Donnie was born with the natural ability to repair mechanical problems. It was obvious when as a child he started tinkering with lawnmowers and as he got older, moved to repairing vehicles. Donnie never misses a seminar or EXPO, and has participated in a number of Rebuilder competitions, not just is it fun but it allows him to continue to stay one of the best in the business! Donnie has always lived on the East Coast, close to his family and what spare time he has, he spends with family and watching wrestling with his son.
Billy Getty

General Automotive Technician
Billy Getty has over 22 years of experience in extensive drivability and electrical automotive repairs. He began helping his father work on cars when he was 7 years old and has not stopped. After high school he attended Nashville Auto Diesel College and over the years has achieved certifications by the Automotive Service of Excellence (ASE) as a Master Technician, Service Consultant and Undercar Specialist. He has also received certification by the International Mobile Air Conditioning Association (IMACA). Billy has received training with Carquest Technical Institute (CTI), the automotive industry’s leading technician courses and continues to promote improvement and learning in the automotive repair industry. Billy has set forth to maintain an excellent customer satisfaction rating by interfacing professionally and communicating with customers. He can accurately assess problems and provide information and advice to customers, allowing them to make the right decision about their automotive needs. Billy’s integrity and honesty makes him a recognized leader in providing customers with an exceptional automotive service experience. Billy is married and has three children and one grandchild. In his spare time, Billy enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, going to car shows, golfing, traveling, listening to music and hanging out with his friends and family.
Anthony Wilson

R & R Tech
Anthony has over 15 years of professional experience working in the transmission industry, but has been turning wrenches since a young age. Thanks to his dad who showed him how to work on cars, he has always had knowledge of how things work. Anthony’s dad and he rebuilt the engine in his first car which was a 67 Mustang. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing or anything having to do with the outdoors. He also enjoys hanging out with friends, family and playing the guitar.
Laura Wilson

Owner & Office Manager
Laura is co-owner and office manager of Advanced Transmission. She oversees the daily activities from the business aspect of the office. Being a woman holding a leadership role in a predominantly man's field has been especially challenging. She has overcome this with flare and has held prominent positions in a major transmission association. Her diversified experience also includes being a State of Alabama licensed Notary Public and Realtor. She never lets an opportunity to learn more about the industry and business in general pass her by and is constantly taking advantage of business courses offered at the University of South Alabama, management seminars and other classes designed specifically for the transmission industry. “My main goal is to strive to help change the negative image of the automotive repairing industry.”
Marvin Wilson

Owner & Master Technician

Owner & Master Technician oversees the overall shop business. Marvin is a Certified Rebuilder, Diagnostician and Chasis Technician. He is also an ASE certified technician. He grew up in the transmission business working for his father for 17 years, gaining priceless knowledge about older model transmissions from his father the late Woody Wilson. He is continuously taking advantage of training seminars to keep himself abreast of the new models in an ever-changing industry, this allows Advanced Transmission to offer to our customers the highest quality of work possible. Marvin's 33 years of experience has gained him recognition by industry leaders for his technical expertise.
